Before you begin, Adobe Illustrator needs to be Installed on your computer. Go to help.meadowbrook-ma.org for those instructions.

Open Adobe illustrator and click New File

Set up the document to the size of our small laser cutter:

1) Inches

2. width:  24

3. height: 12

4. color mode: RGB color. (The laser cutter will only work with RGB color. It won't work if this says CMYK.)

5) Create

Setting up your Adobe Illustrator Workspace with the menus you will need.

Go to Window-> Workspace-> Extensions Classic

Draw a House Using Shapes

1. On the left menu, click on Rectangle Tool (Shortcut M)
2. Move your mouse where you want the top-left corner of your rectangle to be. It will be a cross-hair shape. (This will be the body of your house. Leave room above it for the roof.)
3. Click and drag your mouse to create a box.
